Michael Korpi, Jr.

Michael

In October of 2010, Michael and his dog Jack left home in Seattle to embark on a cross-country journey to Boston—on foot.  After the nine-month trek, Michael returned to school to complete his music degree in violin performance.

Jack

Next, instead of pursuing a traditional musical career, Michael will be taking on another long walk with Jack—this time busking on sidewalks, collecting stories of real people and places, and sharing them here with you through photos, videos, music, and written updates.

The adventure is slated to begin in fall 2013. Michael will head south from Seattle to wherever legs and Jack happen to take him. First, watch Michael's intro video below. Then catch up by reading the latest on Michael's blog.

Pacific Northwest Inlander

"The masses of River Park Square soften when Michael Korpi, Jr., strikes the opening notes of “Apologize.” Some slow down. Others stop to watch. From his nimble fingers, through the instrument and out the amplifier, Korpi, 25, weaves each note into the next. Song fills the glass and steel canyon of downtown and consume the ears of those passing by."
